So lovely! I am finding that doing graphite or pen sketching makes me aware of tonality more.
But as it applies to oil painting, where your eye must work on large masses, rather than fine detail,at least initially, I get a disconnect. It will take a bit longer for me to find where one helps the other; I'll keep working on it!
